Early/Dual Enrollment
Students may also be admitted into the college while still in high school. The Early and Dual Enrollment Programs at Laredo Community College are programs designed to provide students the opportunity to enroll and receive credit for college courses while the student is still in high school and completing the requirements for high school graduation. Applicants for early and dual enrollment must meet the following requirements:
- Students must have the approval of their high school principal and counselor. The principal and counselor certify that the student is in good academic standing with the high school. For dual enrollment purposes, students are required to have a minimum of an 85 high school GPA.
- A high school student is eligible to enroll in academic dual enrollment courses if the student demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards under the TSI provisions:

- Students may be exempt from further TSI testing by scoring at or above the scores stated above. Scores from different instruments (not expired) may be used to obtain exemption status. Effective SSI 2005, students can receive partial exemption when they achieve the composite score or total score along with the minimal subject score in that area. ACT and SAT can be used for exemptions within five years from the date of testing and STAAR has a three-year limitation.
- Students who are not TSI exempt based on the above mentioned tests and scores must take the TSI Assessment unless enrolling in a Level I Certificate Program.
- Students must remain in good standing at their high school and at LCC while enrolled at both institutions. Students not in good standing will not be allowed to register for subsequent semesters while still early enrolled. Earned college grades of "F" and/or a GPA below a 2.0 will indicate that the student is not in good standing at LCC.
- A Dual/Early Enrollment Form must be filled out and submitted to the Dual Enrollment office each time a student enrolls for the Fall, Spring, Summer Session I and Summer Session II. Completed dual enrollment forms and documentation will be collected by high school representatives and submitted to the Dual Enrollment staff.
- Early enrolled students must submit an Early Enrollment form and a sealed official academic high school transcript for the semester enrolled to the Office of Admissions & Registrars.
- Upon graduation from high school or during their senior year, Dual/Early Enrolled students must reapply for admission to Laredo Community College as high school graduates.
