Satisfactory Academic Progress for determining Academic Standing

The primary responsibility for acceptable standards of academic student success at Laredo College lies with the student. It is up to the student to maintain a GPA in accordance with established academic standards. In order for students to be considered to be in good academic standing the following measures must be met:

Students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 or better to be considered in good academic standing. Students must also verify their financial aid standing if they are receiving federal financial aid dollars in the form of Pell grants. The standard of work for financial aid also includes a quantitative standard that requires students to successfully complete a minimum number of courses by percentage each session. For financial aid purposes, students must also complete at least 67% of courses they attempt each term.

For the purposes of determining academic standing, transfer credit grades do impact the overall GPA earned at Laredo College.
