Title IX Overview

Laredo College is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all students. In compliance with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C., Section 1681 Et. Seq.), LC strictly prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any educational program or activity.

Prohibited Conduct Under Title IX

Title IX protections extend to various forms of sex-based discrimination, including but not limited to:

  • Sexual assault
  • Dating violence
  • Domestic violence
  • Stalking
  • Sexual harassment

These actions are not only violations of college policy but are also forms of sex discrimination prohibited by federal law.

Filing a Title IX Complaint

Any individual who experiences or witnesses a Title IX violation should report the incident to the Title IX Officer for investigation and resolution. These policies apply to all students and employees of Laredo College. Retaliation against individuals involved in the complaint process is strictly prohibited.

Pregnancy and Related Accommodations

Laredo College does not discriminate against students based on pregnancy or related conditions. Pregnant students may request academic accommodations by completing a Pregnancy Accommodation Request Form each semester they are enrolled.
