Credit by Certification

A student who has been certified by a State Agency for a specific vocation may receive Credit by Certification even though he/she has not earned the college credit. To receive the credit, the student must make a written petition to the department chair. The department chair of the specific vocational area must determine if the student meets the requirements for such credit prior to granting it. If the department chair determines the student meets the requirements, a written recommendation is made to the appropriate Dean. The request is forwarded to the Provost / Vice-President of Academic Affairs for final approval. If approved, the Provost / Vice-President of Academic Affairs sends the credit recommendations to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions for processing.
