High School Accreditation

While admission to Laredo College does not require graduation from an accredited high school, if you are applying for Financial Aid the high school from which a student graduates must be accredited. The following agencies and links to these agencies can provide you with more information:

Texas Education Agency

Texas Private School Accrediting Commission

Texas Charter Schools

There are instances when a student may have graduated from a high school outside of Texas. In these cases, the Office of Registrar and Admissions will review the high school transcript provided by the student to LC and determine the school's accreditation status.

Foreign high school transcripts are not accepted at Laredo College unless these transcripts have been evaluated and translated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). NACES is an approved evaluation service that determines that foreign high school credentials are comparable to those credentials of a high school graduate in the United States. The NACES website can be found at www.naces.org.
