Student Code of Conduct Expected Behaviors in College Classrooms
As a student at Laredo College, you are expected to uphold standards of behavior that promote a positive, respectful, and productive learning environment. The following guidelines apply to all classrooms, offices, and college properties:
- Be Punctual – Arrive on time and be prepared for class or scheduled appointments.
- Engage in Learning – Use class time effectively to focus on learning and understanding course material.
- Uphold Academic Integrity – Maintain high ethical standards by refraining from cheating, plagiarism, or dishonest conduct.
- Remain in Class – Stay in class until dismissed by the instructor unless an emergency arises.
- Keep Hallways and Common Areas Quiet – Be mindful of noise levels to avoid disrupting ongoing classes or office work.
- Practice Civility – Treat all students, faculty, and staff with respect and professionalism across all campus facilities.
- Respect Diversity – Differences among individuals should be valued. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of bullying will not be tolerated.
- Use Appropriate Language – Avoid vulgar, offensive, or disrespectful language in all college spaces.
- Follow College Policies – Abide by all Laredo College policies, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
Failure to adhere to these expectations may result in disciplinary action in accordance with Laredo College’s Student Code of Conduct.
